There are over one billion people on the planet living in extreme poverty. We believe that this number can be reduced to nearly zero by mid-century through sustainable economic growth in regions of the world where poverty is most prevalent. Technology is one of the key drivers of sustainable economic growth and is the basis for our mission of providing underdeveloped communities in the world with access to appropriate technologies that help foster sustainable economic growth.
In 2010, we started our work in Uganda by collaborating with other independent non-profit organizations. After completing several projects and learning much in the process, we decided to form our own non-profit to improve efficiency and streamline our procedures. In 2015, we formed Global Technology Access Foundation. We have focused on providing schools with network and computing technology to help students learn skills essential to success in the new century. For each project, we work closely with the school, local community, and our local partners to implement a solution.
